Bill Clinton did brilliantly what other Democrats had failed to do - make the case for President Barack Obama
Hope Obama's paying attention.

Bill Clinton is such a hypocrite! It is clear that he doesn't believe Obama is ready and towed the party line. Interesting deceit! I have now made up my mind---we need a President with experience and a conscience!
Really? So you don't believe that (as he said in the speech) his first choice was Hillary but he thinks Obama will do a great job?
I hope all the Republicans who liked someone better than McCain vote Obama using that logic.
I think you mean "toed".
Maria that doddering old fool doesn't even have a memory, so how could he have a conscience? Experience? what exactly has he ever got right? he can't even fly a plane without wrecking it. Thats three that I am aware of, ! over land on the east coast. 2 on the aircraft carrier off Vietnam's coast right before 3 he got shot down by antiquated antiaircraft weapons surplus from WW 2. Last what legislation has he voted for, endorsed and got to pass? Lots of older Americans just like him in assisted living, you should go there and pick another candidate.
McCain a consicience come on now. This man will do or say anything to be the great leader.
That sounds really logical---- maybe we should pick you but wait.. you're not a rock star so I'll vote for Bon Jovi. At least he has talent.
Please don't insult people's intelligence or their conscience. I'd like to see how long you would survive in an enemy torture camp. Mc Cain deserves our respect at the very least! No, I'm not thrilled with the choices but I'm working with what's available and some "Rah Rah" guy who doesn't have a clue or any substance is not going to do it for me or any other intelligent American. Let's face it, we judge people by their actions or inactions. No matter how you slice it, Obama is way too green and is like a kid right out of college with a few years experience going for the CEO job. How scary is that!
I'm sorry but you're not really making sense Maria. Perhaps you could explain.
McCain does deserve respect for being a POW but that has nothing to do with whether he'd make a good president. It's like saying "Buzz Aldrin was an Astronaut so he should be President". Let's judge McCain by his policy and his record in the senate. Let's judge Obama in the same way.
McCain was absent for 2/3 of the votes in the senate last year, and when he showed up he voted with Bush 95% of the time.
That's just one single point, you want to go check the facts rather than relying on the talking points like "green" and "no substance".
Obama's accomplishments are more substantial and varied than Clinton suggests. And he has a longer record in elected office than she does, as a second-term New York senator.
Obama was a community organizer and led a voter-registration effort in Chicago that added tens of thousands of people to the rolls. He was a civil rights attorney and taught at one of the nation's premier universities. He helped pass complicated measures in the Illinois legislature on the death penalty, racial profiling, health care and more. In Washington, he has worked with Republicans on nuclear proliferation, government waste and global warming, amassing a record that speaks to a fast start while lacking the heft of years of service.
The Illinois Democrat likes to quote something Bill Clinton once said: "The truth is, you can have the right kind of experience and the wrong kind of experience. Mine is rooted in the real lives of real people, and it will bring real results if we have the courage to change."
Mc Cain's record of accomplishment shows he has made his willingness to cross the political aisle a central theme in his life. He has a record, of reaching across the aisle, whether it be to Joe Lieberman or Russ Feingold, Ted Kennedy or others he has worked with. McCain has a long record of putting his country first; before his party but Obama never acted in a way that was at odds with his party or outside interest groups aligned with Democrats. McCain took on his own party's leadership, and that takes enormous courage. He worked on the campaign finance legislation that Bush reluctantly signed into law. He's a very effective legislator. Democrats have said he can decide quickly what broad concepts he will accept in the give-and-take of negotiations. Republicans have said he is too quick to give in to Democratic demands. He is known for speaking bluntly, and for keeping his word. He tried to change federal campaign funding law over Republicans' extreme opposition. When McCain decided to work out of an office belonging to then-Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt, he was accused of doing the Democrats' work. McCain was the point man in the ately successful effort to gain Bush's signature on legislation banning the use of torture against detainees in the war on terror. McCain was a member of the so-called Gang of 14, a self-appointed group of seven senators from each party that averted a Senate crisis over administration judicial nominees long blocked by Democrats. McCain and Lieberman worked closely on climate control legislation. He tried to work on a patient bill of rights but efforts to get a compromise ultimately broke down when competing outside interests -- insurance companies and trial lawyers -- could not agree on terms covering lawsuits by patients. McCain has been deeply involved in unsuccessful efforts to pass immigration legislation that offers a path to citizenship for millions of men and women in the country illegally.
Unlike Obama who has a short history of accomplishments in the city of Chicago-------
THESE ARE ALL NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS!!
I could go on and on and on and on.
So it seems. Well there's no way we're going to agree on this Maria.
Barack Obama has great reason to be grateful to Bill Clinton today. He received both the backing of and a free tutorial from the man who was the best political campaigner in the second half of the 20th century. And after a vicious primary battle that had diminished his own stature, Bill Clinton also took a first, but large, stride towards restoring his own reputation.
I think this last paragraph says it all. I am pleased for both men for those reasons.
