Sarah Palin's slime, and several answers to it

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities."
—Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin, acceptance speech, September 3, 2008

[M]y dad is a community organizer, so lemme spell this out: the difference between a community organizer and a politician is that a community organizer can't tell anyone what to do. They have to listen. So they can't order books banned from a library to indulge their own religious sensibilities. They can't fire someone because they didn't follow orders to fire an estranged family member. They can't ram through a $15 million dollar sports complex that leaves their local town groaning underneath the debt. Unlike politicians, they don't have any power other than the power of people who want to see something changed.

Djehuty, do you know if that's been verified? I seeded this article and if this debt is correct, it certainly adds weight to the credibility of Anne Kilkenny.

What the hell is a "community organizer?" Does he or she be sure the cars are properly parked, and the other things organized?

What the hell do they actually do?

I would love a job description.

My favorite was the passage from Joe Klein:

This is what Palin and Giuliani were mocking. They were making fun of a young man's decision "to serve a cause greater than himself," in the words of John McCain. They were, therefore, mocking one of their candidate's favorite messages.

I've seen a letter from a high school acquaintance of Palin's, who says she broadly supports her policies, but who was angry about how the sports centre nearly bankrupted the town. I've seen a few other references to it too, so I think it's got to have a basis of fact.

Klein got it right. There are still a few Catholics who have not been sucked into mythical fantasy. She was part of a radical student athletic organization that championed Christian brainwashing.

Hmm endless material here. and they didn't even bring out the WMD's, Namely Sarah Palin AKA Elly May Clampet and her gas pipeline for Alaska, a rort in the making. The oil companies refer to her as the "Hugo Chavez" of Alaska, so one has to wonder, if such a pipeline is built, who will pay for it, as there is not enough gas to make 1¢ out of it.

LOL, so true, those conservatives claim to be so organized and smart but can't do a simple math problem. America has only 3% of all the worlds oil reserves, and we use 25% of the world oil resources...hmmm, so if we even manage to drill out all that we have.... let me see.... fingers being used here... typing is hindered, just a minute... Oh hell I'll just use the Conservative math. It saves America from terrorism solves all our economic problems and puts a chicken in every pot.

    John S. McCain:

If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed.

Sounds like he's imploring people to become community organizers.

Christy nails it. If you spend any time whatsoever doing stuff to help other people out, these freaks gathered in the Xcel Energy Center despise you.
No more mercy. These people need to be more than defeated. They need to be driven from our public life.

    Very informative seed.

The Palin gush-fest will end; people will take a closer look at her.

Her comments mocking community service would be a strong first counter; I hope the MSM picks up on it.

What surprises me about this is that people are surprised about this. Since when have the republicans given a crap about those of us who actually are working for the middle class and helping those less fortunate. I can tell you once every 4 years they come along with a song and dance about how much they care and then they forget about "those people" for the next 4 years. I volunteer and for someone to make fun of my service to my community shows a real lack of respect and show how out of touch the republican party has become.

Be careful if you compare her to another woman you are going to be sexiest. Because a man would never be compared to another man. She's a part time Governor that would be sexiest to. See what I mean you can claim sexism in everything and they will play that card as much as possible because it draws in the woman vote. I just wonder if woman are able to see through what they are doing here cause really they are just using woman.

I have to point this out and this is probably just out of left field and although I'm in my 30's maybe I'm just old fashion. I believe it says a lot about a man in the body language they show towards the women in their lives and the respect through body language. I believe it's easy to talk but actions speak louder than words. I saw something last night after Mccain's speech that just kind of caught my eye and like I said it's just something I saw and my wife pointed it out also. When I walk with my wife down a set of stairs I walk with her, when Barack walked with Michelle down stairs at these events he walked hand in hand with her. Last night John and Cindy where standing at the top of the stairs and Mccain was about to head down to shake hands. Cindy stuck out her hand as if to say please take my hand to help me down the stairs. Mccain looks over at her and just walks down the stairs and leaves her standing there. I just found that amusing.

Voting present is better than McCain has managed, it must be said. But also it's simply a misrepresentation of Obama's record. He has proposed legislation, he's done a lot for a junior senator. McCain has been asleep in his chair.

Bush Jr. let's not forget, was an alcoholic and failed corporate seatwarmer.

I know community organizers and I agree they can't boss people around because most are not qualified to do so. If they were capable they would be running a business or a city etc. What has obama done for the citizens of the USA. Has he introduced legislation? Has he fought in a war to protect our freedoms? Has he been head of any committee? No he hasn't !!!!. How can you say what he can do? He has never shown us anything - he has no experience in these ares . He's a nice guy and sometime in the years to come could make a great president but not yet. I know there are those who will disagree but give me real accomplishments that he has done. Don't tell me what he will do because anyone can say anything and don't tell me about him being an organizer because that has been discussed and that was on a very small scale. Give me big things that helped the majority of the people in the USA

                      Sarah is Awesome!
Now, we have a new model American feminist: A loving mom with five kids, no abortions, no lesbianism, major responsibilities, real accomplishments, a great sense of humor, eats mooseburgers, hunts and fishes and normal Americans love her.

This is driving the left batty.

The left has pandered to grizzly militant feminist crowd, the abortion on demand sicko's, lesbians, man-haters, angry bra-burners and those who avoid children for self-promotion.

Sarah Palin presents a dramatically more respectable model of feminine achievement - one that appeals to our better instincts. She is the anti-feminist model of feminism.

This is why the left has attacked her hysterically. This is what drives Nancy Wilson to such pettiness, lashing out at Sarah Palin's as "not representing US as American women".

Sarah represents a better model of American feminine accomplishment - the left knows it - and they are becoming unhinged.

Post RNC poll numbers (it was just on MSNBC- forgot source) are not as impressive as many on the right would hope.

Just less than 50% of all Americans approve of Sarah Palin as VP pick; about 40% feel she is qualified to handle the top job.

Obviously these are numbers that the GOP needs to see improve; if she is kept hidden from the press for the next 60 days as her handlers have intimated those important numbers will continue to go down.

Hello from the working middle class.....

Let me tell you about us...we are overtaxed by these stupid programs championed by the Democrats. Our economy is in trouble right now, not because of Bush (no, not defending him...he's on my list at the moment!) but because of Congress. Family owned businesses, farms and homes are being lost due to the inheritance tax. People are losing homes because they can't afford to keep them and no one is buying them. Many are trying to debate whether working is work the price of a tank of gas every week. Yeah, a change would be good, because right now sucks.

But a change in what form? More taxes? People that have never paid into Social Security get checks from them every month thanks to the Dems. People that are on welfare have child after child, simply because it is easier than working. As part of the working middle class, I had to go back to work after both of my children were born. My husband made too much to get Government assistance, but not enough for us to eat and have a roof over our heads.

And should we trust our country to a man who has written books and not laws. To a man claiming to one person, but really is another? How are we to fight the war on terrorism if the man we have in charge of our military knows nothing of Honor and Loyalty. He has said many things that should worry us, if we are told of them. How about the slip of "57 States'? Are we really going to buy that he was just tired? How about the fact that there are 57 Islamic states. He had talked about being a part of a church and having close ties to his pastor, the one who has so much hate for everyone who is not like him, black! How about his time spent in Chicago? Those were some great apartment buildings he rehabbed! Now they are covered in graffiti and are mostly empty. The only thing he filled were the pockets of those rehabbers, and they just happened to be friends!

If you democrats would check facts instead of listening to the "messiah" you could also make an intelligent decision. hardly anything he "say's" he's going to do is feasible or possible just the ramblings of a madman, and if you are dumb enough to take the bait I guess you'll just get reeled in. Instead of financing the "poor" and "underprivledged" make them get off the porch, and stop smoking dope and drinking beer all day long, while waiting on their Government check. Put them to work and let them pay some taxes fror a change.

Sarah Palin is not some simple, naive "Hockey Mom," but a true con-artist who is conspiring with the likes of Senator Stevens, McCain and the typical cronies of the oil industry. She receives millions of dollars in earmarks, much to McCain's and Stevens knowledge, evades questions on her spending of those monies and then takes glory as a do-good every day mom. She is not only facing allegations regarding Trooper-gate and the "Bridge to Nowhere" but on the local level there is also the less known Dairygate, referring to her mismanagement of state funded and owned "Mat Maid" milk company.

This website is a sham. I posted a comment pro McCain/Palin, and for some reason it was deleted. I stayed on the subject, I followed the rules. Like everything else in the media liberalist/right-wing bashing, it was hidden from view.

Yes, it is BS that one's opinion is edited or erased if it doesn't agree with another's, but seeing that the media doesn't want to have the truth about Obama's past out there and known, and that this country is headed towards socialism, it should be a surprise.

Newsvine and other 'news sources' are a joke....This isn't news, it's bashing the others that don't agree with you. Right now, you are reading this and only thinking about how you would reply, not the meaning.

Obama and the rest of the Dems are going to send what's left of this country down the drain!

It's BULL, because Newsvine doesn't just Delete Articles without reason, and second because, HERE YOU ARE, I thought you were GOING HOME? Go Already if you don't like it here.

The 2004 election gave the Democrats a majority of ONE VOTE. That gives them the power to pick the agenda, but you still need a THREE QUARTERS MAJORITY VOTE TO PASS A BILL or override a veto! That is all the control you get! IT IS NOT ABSOLUTE, so there is no ABSOLUTE BLAMING OF THE DEMOCRATS! Then the President has the power of VETO!

Bush did not veto anything... nothing zilch. Until the Democrats took the house, and the Republicans ran over 90 filibusters to stop the votes on bills and motions to override vetoes that would have passed! 90!

So stop spreading the Lies and Bull@!$%# to hang all the troubles of this country on the head of the Democrats.

Try to act like adults and face up to your mistakes and take some responsibility for them for once, instead of pointing your finger at your little brother after cracking the lamp and crying "HE did IT?" Every damn time, every time! It is so sickening.

When it was the DECIDER and his REPUBLICAN GOONS in the House and Senate that are to Blame! The Cowards NEVER face up to their mistakes, so THEY WILL NEVER LEARN ANYTHING!

I don't know who"Dude" is but that there has been some buggy things going on with Newsvine, more then usual anyway. But this is not because of some coordinated effort to censor anyone. I just wrote an article and after I saved it was fine, then I did some editing and grammar checking saved and then publish and all the copy I wrote disappeared so I forced quite my browser, (apple) Reopened the browser, went back into my column opened it and it was all Back? So I made the changes, saved the article again, then published. Everything worked fine, here it is, Are they Republicans, or The End Times Party? Palin, McCain, and the agenda to start Armageddon.

The @!$%#tards are being energised by the lack of a "parent" here on nv and they're children, really. A couple have, OK there's no other way to say it, lost their minds. And, in my view, the "waitress said" story hasn't got legs unless there's corroboration from somewhere... but that's no excuse for the personal and nasty attacks we're seeing.
